The SSA foreign enforcement questionnaire arrived by local mail

By the way, each time you contact the SS office at the US embassy to get a signed verification letter they will change your address to your Argentina address. If you don't want that to happen you need to go online and change it to your USA address as I do. Actually, this last time I requested a verification letter I asked them not to change my address to Argentina...it was only a month ago so I don't know yet if they complied.

I do not think you can send a certified mail to a PO Box using Correo. They required a phisical person that can sign the receipi. It hapenrd to me last time I tried to send it that way. send it regular mail

OK....you have done your part. I suggest you contact the FBU again if the form doesn't arrive by mid-July.
Thanks, Gracielle and rob0001 for your DMs(?) re: the proof of life form for 2025. Unfortunately, I still have not received the form. That said, I checked my CoArg receipt from 2023 and noticed that I mailed that year's form on 6 July, the day after receiving it, so hopefully it will arrive pronto.

So here we are beginning the second week of July, and still nobody has received their form?

I'm beginning to think GuidoAnselmi's concerns about DOGE "complicating" things at the Social Security Administration are actually the case.

Hey, Red. Same here, still no form. Humbug!
To RedPossum and other BAExpat members and readers...

Yesterday I sent an email to the FBU at the US embassy here, advising them of my non-receipt of this year's FEQ-7162 "proof of life" form, then requested them to advise me how to obtain the form, etc., etc. The following is the email response I received from the FBU Argentina today:

Good day,

FEQs for 2025 have not been mailed by the SSA as of today. Expected mail date is July 31, 2025.

If you do not receive the forms by November, please fill a copy of the form and mail it to the FBU in Buenos Aires: REPORT TO THE UNITED STATES SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION - SSA-7162-OCR-SM.

Our address:

US EMBASSY
FEDERAL BENEFITS UNIT
AV. COLOMBIA 4300
1425 BUENOS AIRES
ARGENTINA

I searched high and low within the SSA website for any notice about a mailing date change but to no avail. Methinks the current "reorganization" happening at the SSA (among other federal agencies) may have something to do with the date change. Well, at least we have an answer now!

Guido, thank you so very much!
This is a load off my mind to be sure

But this part puzzles me a bit, "If you do not receive the forms by November, please fill a copy of the form and mail it to the FBU in Buenos Aires"
If we haven't received the form, where do we get a copy of the form?

Hey, Red. The lonnnng sentence in all upper case, beginning with REPORT TO THE UNITED STATES... is a link to download a pdf of the form. I checked it out, so no problem. I'm not sure how long the link will remain active here, so you may want to note it just in case you (we!) may need to use it at the end of the year.

Got it saved, thank you so very much!
I also saved the address and mailing instructions.

I should have been able to figure out on my own that the link would be to a copy, but I suppose we all have our slow days...
