Tips for exploring Buenos Aires - from someone dating a local

For someone dating a local, this sure is a whole lot of super generic touristy BA stuff everyone already knows
Yebbut... Haven't you noticed that there's an awful lot of published slop around these days? And it's not all AI slop - although who can really know without a lot of digging and I've only really time for that with something I'm really interested in. Lots of clickbaitey articles with titles like: I'm a hospital porter and this is the REAL reason your medical bills are sky high. Or: I work at a gas station and I know how often you should really change your tyres. Clickbait, clickbait, clickbait.

As a human who went to journalism school, with decades in the field, it's maddening. Everyone to serve a corporate interest, real writing be damned, gotta get them advertising dollars!

This list reads as though her partner is from the suburbs and read about the hotspots in the city that would impress her. I fell into many a' tourist destination when I first moved here. They're reliable, tried and tested. As a curious person I eventually branched out, too much to see and do to stay in a rut like that.

Attractions like the rose and botanical gardens, the Eco Park, cemetery, cultural centers and museums? I still enjoy a walk-through during less populated hours. Even locals go to the tourist spots. But, you'd think to jazz it up a bit, since every single article already mentions the same stuff. The title suggests we're going to be let in on a hidden gem or five but the whole thing is just the same regurgitation it ever is.

Oh, to be living my first few weeks in Buenos Aires all over again...the naive, ignorant, whimsy of it all!

Many articles are written using AI, and it's clear that the output is often gibberish, with the article writer having no clue what they are writing about.

I spent many years writing for blogs/magazines. Clickbait headlines are used for getting web traffic (i.e. ad revenue). This headline is particularly nauseating - look at me, I have a boyfriend.

The editor must have had a slow content day.

Original Quote:"Obviously, I was not allowed near the fire pit in case I created some sort of imbalance that would ruin the spell of the asador (head chef, basically). "

I can't follow what it says, sounds pretty strange. But probably someone bad at writting had no clue on what so ever, and AI like GPT would 've done much better job.....

I do copywriting and content writing for travel compaies, and considering pitching a few articles on the "real" BA to the likes of th BBC, Loney Planet, having been here for 11 years now. The great thing about AI is that human writing has become so much more valuable now.

I don't think it's AI written, becuase AI would do much better job.
The writter most likely is an Argentine and English is her second language.

The article says she's Irish, and her English is probably a bit different to yours. I wouldn't be too down on her, maybe the article is a bit trite, but if it's your first time visiting, and maybe second time in South America, anything you share will probably be superficial.

Though the women being a bad influence on the asado thing was a bit strange, I haven't come across that. Maybe it was just a joke that fell flat.
