I have been coming to BA for a couple of years and noticed that this time the Tourista visa stamp says "3 meses" as opposed to the previous "90 dias". I have not overstayed my visa on previous trips, however, due to airline schedules on this trip I am here for 3 months + 1 day. Arrived on the 19th of November and leaving on the 19th of February. I've read as many threads on this topic as I could find but the 3 month limit seems to be new. I am 4 days over the old 90 day limit and would expect to pay the fine under the old limit.

Should I expect to pay the fine for being one day over on the 3 month limit?

From reading the posts it sounds like I need to pay the fine before going through security but will I know if I need to pay it before I go through?

Should I just pay it and not worry about it?

Any insights appreciated.

I just whipped my passport out. I've got a mixture of 90 days and 3 month stamps dating back since 2005. I think it just depends which stamp they're using.

Anyway, pretty certain it's 90 days officially and you'll have to pay the fine. I'd say it's better to do it right before security rather than try to go through and face the hassle of being sent back.

I think most airlines now look at your passport before you check in , Maybe someone can confirm that

If flying out, be sure to add extra time, at least an hour, to pay.

See this thread: http://baexpats.org/topic/7615-paying-the-overstay-fine-at-ezeiza/page__st__20__hl__+eze%20+fine%20+pay%20+time#entry52414

Thanks to all for the info and advice. I'll probably go to migrations and extend the visa to avoid the extra time at the airport.
