Has anyone ever paid a local business in Buenos Aires in pesos while being outside of Argentina — without having an Argentine bank account?

If so, how did you do it? I’m trying to send a payment directly to the business's bank account in pesos and looking for the best method. Any tips or services that worked for you?

I use the Remitly app. You have to have a lot of bank account information for the recipient. It gives me a pretty good exchange rate.... Converts dollars to pesos.

The only methods I know of are via international wire or local virtual apps. Both of them require a somewhat financially knowledgeable recipient. Don't expect your local tile layer to want to deal with either.

I paid a rental once with Western Union as agreed with the owner of the property.

I used to do this often as well US bank to Arg bank but Western Union became a lot more militant about declaracion juradas and "familiar support" being the only valid transfer category.

Have used WU Debit Card from US bank transfer to recipient cash pesos. Recipient must collect cash.

This is interesting...can you explain it a little more? You sent US dollars to a Western Union debit card and used that card to get cash to pay the recipient? How did you use the debit card to get pesos? You went to an argentine bank ATM?

Easiest way is getting someone here to do it that needs dollars abroad.

I will warn against using the Western Union approach though in case the business is using a non-personal account at the bank since WU might automatically flag transfers to persona juridicas as invalid/prohibited
