Hello,

I've had my permanent residency here since 2011, but haven't left the country or been back to migraciones since then. Something urgent has come up, and I need to go home for a few weeks ASAP. If I have my British passport and my DNI is that sufficient for travel? I was looking to leave on Monday so wouldn't have time to go to migraciones or anything.

Might sound like a dumb questions, as logically that should be all I need, but logic isn't universally applied here! I just wanted to check before booking the flights that I wouldn't enounter problems.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Pfrase

All you need is your passport and DNI. They'll ask for it at both checkin-in and immigration.

As Leslie says, passport and DNI is all you need at EZE.
I have the same and made the mistake once of not taking my DNI, just a photocopy which isn't recommended.
Give my regards to Blighty :)

Thanks a lot to you both for the information! I was just about to book the tickets and suddenly started remembering all the bureaucracy and apostilles, so I thought I'd better check!

Thanks again!

Leaving Heathrow they didn't ask for my DNI. Didn't care in the least about an Argentine visa.

UK citizen with DNI & permanent resident in Argentina.

Recently flew London, Toronto, Santiago. Neither in London nor Toronto did they ask for DNI/Visa for south america. Chile customs didn't even look at my passport just my DNI when I entered. As usual when I cross between Chile/Argentina I just show my DNI.

It's also good to note that for foreigners who are permanent residents of Argentina (which means, of course, that your DNI must must contain the appropriate permanent residency stamp), may clear immigration at Ezeiza (or Aeroparque) via the citizens/residents queue; it is not necessary to clear immigration via the visitors queue. For US citizens entering/leaving the US, US immigration could care less if you have an Argentine DNI, even when you indicate country of residence as Argentina on the US customs form. Your US passport is sufficient.
