Trump announces plan to lift Argentina visa restrictions

I think it’ll be more than that. US, apart from the natural resources, will need the human resources of Argentina. There are very qualified, well educated Argentines across the world.

"It will likely take two to three years before visa-free travel becomes a reality for Argentine passport holders,"

(By which time, Trump may be on his way out, Milei may be on his way out, the economy in Argentina may have become more of a risk for overstays, etc. This is far from a sure thing, but I'm glad to hear it's on the table)

Meanwhile, not sure if Trump's $250 additional visa processing fee (on top of regular fees) is in effect for Argentina, or is still just a 'concept of a plan'?

How do you figure that? Trump is aiming for net negative immigation. There is not a single sector, except maybe football, where Argentines could compete with other foreigners, many with Ivy League degrees, already struggling to find work in the US.

There are a lot of Argentines with Ivy League degrees already working in the USA. doing things like being deans of universities, and when Trump deports them, they will need to hire new qualified candidates, and then they will be hired back...
