Trump says US will not 'waste our time' helping Argentina if Milei loses

So I know this may seem weird, but has any money actually moved anywhere? Papers signed, deposit slips filled out, whatnot whatnot, actual concrete things?
Or is this still a 'concept of a plan', contingent on what happens in two weeks? (The famous two week time frame)
Before anyone says it's done and done, fait accompli, I'd like to see official affirmation, details, proof, etc.

This recent NYTimes article seems to indicate the negative; hard to imagine they got it completely wrong.

It occurs to me Trump could STILL just be bluffing, to give Milei/LLA a boost in the election; while planning to duck out, and blame whoever.
Where's the bill with his big beautiful Sharpie signature at the bottom?
Where's the picture of Milei holding a giant check, like publisher's clearing house gave out?
Hmmph.
It may be that the US leader wants to keep a low profile in the US because he campaigned on an "America (USA) First" policy. His supporters won't be happy to see 20 billion USD go to a foreign nation, especially one that few know anything about and don't care about.

Exactly, which is why his pronouncement that the USA would "be gone" if Milei doesn't do well in the election was more for domestic consumption than anything else.

Not much has been reported about this 'loan' by the media. I think few USA people have any idea about it. Surprisingly even left-leaning media have not covered it preferring instead stories about ICE.

Yes, last week the US treasury department spent their USD to buy ARS pesos. Spain based Santander handled the currency exchange transactions. Argentina did not receive direct funds, but money was spent by US in the successful effort to prop up the value of the peso. More supply of USD than demand. This saved the Argentina government money that day, on XE and bond markets, and can continue (or not) with the same goal.

As the US bought pesos again today. Plus the treasury chief said he is working on a separate idea to convince private sector investment funds to invest another 20b in Argentina (with twisted arms?)

Bessent also clarified that the U.S. would continue to support Argentina financially as long as President Javier Milei's government pursues "good policies," regardless of the outcome of a parliamentary election in the South American country later this month.

The Peso purchases aren't having much effect, though... the Blue Dollar went up 2.5% today.

And yes, Bessent has come out with yet another message today, that the total help could be USD 40 billion.

I think I read in an article that $20-100M USD was spent to purchase pesos, so really not much has been spent, I think for last week. They appeared to have purchased more today.

It's a bottomless pit the original IMF Dollar loan gone, the $20 billion reinforcement fom the IMF also gone, now the US Treasury mentions an additional $40 billion aid Fund or swap..

Obviuosly, Trump was confused after a sleeples night on the AF One flying from Egypt, He sure meant that if in the 2027 Presidential Election the Preonismo is elected then no more free US taxpayers dollars.

Of $20B reinforcement IMF loan, it's reported that only $14B has been given. Originally $12B and the additional $2B.
