My mother in law is a politics junkie. She's always been anti-Trump, calls him a payaso, was happy when Biden won, etc. But she's also very anti-socialism so while she admitted the recent election wasn't one where there was a good choice, she was quite happy with the results. I mentioned the story about the Trump visit, called it a 'meeting of the clowns,' pointed out how they're mutual fans of each other, how the Trumpistas in the US are pro-Milei, Tucker Carlson's interview and his role and place among the Trumpistas, etc. She acted as if she wasn't at all aware of their mutual appreciation and couldn't admit to any kind of ideological or any other type of connection between the two. She watches/listens to politics on the radio/TV/YouTube all day and all night so I'm sure she's aware, but probably too embarrassed to acknowledge that they're both cut from the same cloth.
I could see Milei visiting Trump in the US more than Trump visiting here. I don't see what's in it for him and playing host being visited instead of being a guest in someone else's house is the alpha male/macho power move. Right now I'd bet that it's just another one of those things Trump talks about doing but doesn't follow through on. Lot of comments on US based websites saying 'Good, I hope he stays there and all his MAGA supporters follow him.' and mentions of how ARG became a safe haven for Nazis after WWII so it's fitting he'd come here. I don't care whether he visits or not as long as he doesn't visit the little corner of ARG I'm in.
