By asked for my card (which I didn't finish completing) I mean there was a guy in his 50's/60's trying to stay awake collecting them in his hands as we walked past. Not asking, sorta waiting for anyone to give them up, if they were interested that is.

I've only been asked to open a bag one time - I had a number of new polos from Banana Republic, several mine, some were gifts. The (young) agent eyed the shirts for a full minute - I was just about to ask him what size he preferred when he relented and closed the bag.

Avianca did not handout custom declarations nor did anyone on the ground ask for them.
