I´m bringing a case of wine back as a christmas gift for a family member. Obviously more than the 1.5L allowed, actual value will be about 420 USD. I obviously would prefer not to pay impuestos on all of that, so I was thinking about declaring it as much less.

Anybody done this? Anybody been caught?

If I do declare full value how much will the duties be?

Don't worry about the EMPUESTOS!!!

They are only 3%. I think that you can afford US$12.60. And that's including the 1.5L-3L (depending on State of entry) that you get to set aside.

It's nothing. Don't worry about it. Follow the law and relax. Maybe even get some sleep on the plane.

Happy Holidays!

PS- I might ask for you to bring back some DOVE Dark Chocolate or a book for me in exchange for my wonderful, yet free advice.
