The US Issues a "Do Not Travel" warning to these 21 Countries. I was in Venezuela many years ago, BC ( Before Chavez). when the country was still "normal". I would love to visit North Korea just because the place is so weird. In YouTube videos the place looks like something out of a Twilight Zone TV show.

I almost went north korea, but no, my friends did. Only way to get there is flying from Beijing China, via group tour.
P.S. They told me the dollar doesn't go far in north korea.
Value-wise somewhat like in Argentina these days.

Some of these make sense, they're literally failed states or countries engaged in wars, yet if the State Department were being honest they'd include several US allies on such a list, but well, that's not how these things work, despite risks to US citizens.

No surprises here, these have either been level 4 or level 3 for a long time (or at least since war has broken out).

I'm surprised that Trump didn't personally intervene in this State Department process (more or less annual) and move Russia from Level 4 (Do Not Travel) to Level 1 (Exercise Normal Precautions). Maybe next year? In any event, I find it interesting that some U.S. government (repeat some) processes like this one are still functioning normally.

On a related note, I wouldn't be surprised to

Which allies? Do we really have allies now?

I'm sure that Trump has no idea that the U.S. State Department issues travel advisories more or less annually for every country in the world (and in some cases, like Mexico, every state). If and when he realizes there is such a list, I wouldn't be surprised to see Russia go from Level 4 (Do not travel) to Level 1 (exercise normal precautions).

So, a country that disappears people, US residents and foreigners with valid visas, from airports, border crossings, and off the streets, "diesels" them across the country to prevent them asserting any rights they may have, and then deports them, with luck to their home countries, otherwise to black prisons, issues travel advisories. Irony doesn't even begin to describe this.

You do know that countries that *disappear* people (like the one you're currently living in has in the past), they don't get to have margaritas at a resort with a US Senator, right?
