Hi all! I have lived here for a couple of years and used local vets near my apartment for odds and ends of things for my two dogs. I have been seeing one of those vets for the past 3 months concerning a skin infection on one of my dogs. I guess I finally realize she doesn't know what she's doing as the infection has gotten so much worse to the point I am very concerned. The vet doesn't seem to be concerned at all and just casually switches from one antibiotic to the next with an "oh well" kind of attitude. I have also tried a few others who are equally inexperienced. I live near Las Heras and Pueyrredon. Please, is there anyone who can recommend a very good vet for my dog? I am extremely worried - it has gotten very serious. Thanks for your help.

I take my dog and cat to a very good vet on Juncal and Larrea ( small shop close to the bakery store ). I also have references of a vet that does home visits in the area but fortunately I didin't have to use him http://veterinarialas24hs.com.ar/ubicacion.php

Thank you very much. I went to see your vet this morning and he was very nice. Unfortunately, he does not have expertise in more serious skin infections. He did give me some referrals but they were pretty far away.

Have u tried http://www.cvpaunero.com.ar/? We used them in the past...very professional.

Yes, actually I have been seeing the dermatologist at Paunero. I think she is just out of her league with this case, although she is very nice. I have a medical / pharmaceutical background so it has been difficult for me to be patient here. My experience in the United States w/ vets was superb so it's a challenge to be in a country where the standards are not even close.

I am sorry to hear he was not able to help ( at least he was straightforward about it ). I know a very good vet doctor, but he is not in Recoleta.

Through the years I've used Yamil Felix at Mascotas Porteñas on las heras between uriburu and Junin. He should be there tomorrow until the afternoon. He knows a lot of specialists so he could refer you. Also does house visits. Spanish speaker only. Best of luck.

I dont like Paunero. I suggest you faunatikos, the one on av las heras almost ugarteche, and it has house calls. Also the vet at the vet shop on cabello between rca de la india and lafinur, who is there mondays and tuesdays is great, she also works at vet hospitals ad honorem, thus has criteria for non usual criteria. Good luck!
