I am in need of some information, I am a US Citizen and was recently (mid March) granted a work visa here in Argentina, I am still waiting for my DNI to arrive in the mail (I was told it takes 2-3 months).
This might seem like a silly question but does anyone know how long the Visa Trabajador Migrante is valid for? At the point when I was granted my Visa at Migraciones I was instructed to ask my employer how long the Visa is valid for...They have no clue. I have searched the internet to find information, I have called Migraciones to inquire and come up with nothing, nada. DOES ANYONE KNOW OR KNOW WHERE TO FIND OUT? If you are or know a lawyer to consult that would be ideal.
Thanks.

Your "Visa Trabajador Migrante" is valid for 1 year. If you continue to work here in Argentina, legally, you will have to renew it each year for 2 consecutive years. After a total of 3 years you can change to the "permanent resident" category. The process is much simpler when you renew after the initial trámite. You have to bring a "continuance of employment" letter from your employer, certified by an escribano, copies of all of your paystubs, your passport and the documents you were given when you first registered and a current criminal record check (and photocopies of EVERYTHING including EVERY SINGLE PAGE of your PASSPORT) It's all done in about 2 hours, if everything is done right.

Thanks so much for your helpful response, another question I have is the Visa is valid for one year starting from when? The date I paid the $600 pesos for the Visa at Migraciones? Or The date I receive my DNI? (which I am still waiting for)
Thanks.

Your DNI will be dated the same day (fecha de radicacion) you paid the $600 pesos. That will be the renewal date for your visa.
