1. candidates with intelligent arguments: Javier Milei/Juan Schiaretti
2. smooth talker with no solutions: Sergio Massa
3. only capable of shouting: Patricia Bulrich
4. frustrated anti-capitalist: Myriam Bregman
According to the TN viewer poll (1.3m participants/ votes) the debate winner was:
- Millei = 48%
- Bullrich = 20%
- Massa = 15%
- Schiaretti = 15%
- Bregman = 2%
Millei was more “toned down” and professional than I had expected. Even his appearance seemed to have been tidied up a bit.
Schiaretti was an impressive performer, capturing more attention than would be expected, as able to back most things he said up with clear examples and concisely convey what he was offering voters in a calm a sincere manner. A far better sounding centrist alternative than that creep-show Massa.
Am also impressed that ultimately there was little focus on recent events with the FDT chief of cabinet of the Provincia of Buenos Aires, best friend of Axel and Maximo (and electoral running mate of Massa belonging to FDT/“UP”) exposing typical K corruption as he partied on a $12.000+ a day yacht in Marbella with a high end escort (or “model” to be correct) complete with champagne, Lv, Rolex and a home made porn video - with a DDJJ declaring his wealth at only ARS45.000 in a caja de ahorros, a humble little home in Lomas and only source of income a public sector salary.
Last night's presentation could have been titled the NO-DEBATE.
I dozed off after the initial 30 minutes. I watched the rest this morning on YouTube.
In my opinion, there was no winner as none of the candidates tilted the ammeter to their side.

Comenzamos el mes en el que la Argentina transita su camino hacia el futuro. Hay una idea generalizada de que Myriam Bregman fue la que más se destacó en el debate presidencial de este domingo, con la facilidad de que no tiene nada que perder.

....The Procrustes Debate....the myth:
Procrustes had his house in the hills, where he offered lodging to solitary travelers. There he invited them to lie down on an iron bed. While the travelers slept, he gagged them and tied them to the four corners of the bed. If the victim was tall and his body was longer than the bed, heproceeded to cut off the protruding body parts. If, on the other hand, he was shorter than the bed, he stretched it out. According to other versions, no one ever agreed on the size of the bed because Procrustes had two, one very long and the other too short. Procrustes continued his reign of terror until he encountered the hero, Theseus, who reversed the game, challenging Procrustes to see if his own body fit the size of the bed. When the innkeeper was lying down, Theseus gagged him and tied him to the bed and, there, he tortured him to "adjust" him as he did to travelers.
....The debate does not seem to fundamentally modify the intention of the vote. We could say that they all seemed very calm, a five-fold tie, with some points in favor of Myriam Bregman, and others, according to some, of Sergio Massa. They are all cut to the same size, to the point that Milei himself stopped being an outsider and became an insider. Which is why we associate the presidential debate on Sunday, October 1, with the myth of Procrustes.
