What can you buy for a peso?

Last time I was in Argentina, the peso was the same as the US dollar. I checked the conversion rate and it says 4 pesos per dollar. But what does one peso actually buy you right now?
 
Ha...review other forums...maybe a pack of gum...not even a bottle of water.
 
A gum or a candy. The minimun bus ride is $1.10, the same price is a subway ride. A pair of latex gloves also cost around $1.
 
I think there are some train tickets for less than a peso -- maybe Belgrano to Retiro.
 
a powder to obtain a cup of medicinal tea, like vick vitapirena.
 
one pound of potatoes,sometimes 2 when on offer
half a pound of apples when on offer
 
One medialuna, or two in the suburbs :)
And five cigarettes, or less?
 
thats what i was going to suggest too, a couple of cigarettes from the kisko
