Looking for folks to enlighten me as to what is "Nac & Pop", one of those terms that I find amusing here in Argentina

Does it refer to something nationally produced for national consumption? Are the connotations positive, negative, or neutral? Thanks!

Nacional y Popular. Oxymoron is the & that is English.... lmao

It is an aforism for anything that is popular or populist.Argentina is suffering an epidemic of this sickness since the early 1940´s and 50´s, with the Peron govmt.
It looks for a confrontation between what is produced nationally and that what is imported or foreign, included culturally. It mistrust anything foreign, and looks for pseudo-protection to local produced products (even at horrible high costs).
In China had the equivalent with the Boxers of around 1900, I believe.

Popular here in spanish means something different than in english. Its popular in the sense of "to everyone"; popular here has a "working class" connotation, like popolo in italian, like the lower strata.

So nac & pop means something national and inclusive to all. That is supposedly peronismo or any product of peronismo.

Supposedly.
