It's been creeping in like the blob absorbing any English programing and spitting out the English!
Arg TV is bad enough when a channel repeats, and heavily promotes the same 6 episodes of a series for an entire season then do a marathon of those same 6 episodes, then stretch it out over the next year as well as if its a bonus.
Now thy are nixing the SAP audio altogether for shows that I know have been previously aired with the English track fully available (case in point Bones, American Dad, Family Guy, on FX). Or worse, I've started to watch movies (Airplane) with SAP on and half way through the first 1/2 hour the language changes to Spanish. WTF??? Even the kids channels often don't have the English track available even if the option exists for that show.
Either this is strategic on the part of the channel, or some programming director doesn't know/care/want to provide this option, or a tech along the line dropped the ball.
If someone with a broadcasting background knows about where this oversight might be... please let me know. I mean is it FX, who desides, Cablevision, government?
I pay lots to get cable so that I can kick back and recharge my brain with some mindless English entertainment, so I'd love to know where to send the complaint.
Is there a cable provider/package that has for-sure SAP or language control?
Anyone?
