What was your motivation to

leave your job, sell your stuff, collect all your savings and pack up and move to BA. without any strong social circle there.
Has anyone done it this way or similar.

What are the requirements for a visa for your husband?

Visa requirements are annoying, but not impossible. Basically lots of paperwork and about one year's time. Check out US requirements on the embassy's website. http://buenosaires.usembassy.gov/family_based_immigrants.html
