I always used craigslist. Now it seems almost unusable. Nearly every apartment has "comision to add," which was never the case before. The choice is limited and repetitive. Is there some new site or resource that everyone uses that I don't know about?

the $40 fee is the agency fee if you rent thru them. access to the website is free

I think in the case of craigslist, the agents figured out it was a really good way to find foreign renters and just started abusing it (posting spurious ads, reposting ads several times a day etc) , kind of classic Tragedy of the Commons : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy_of_the_commons
