I've seen The Economist at the news stands in Recoleta, but haven't been able to find the Guardian.

I would go to the newstands at Florida street, between Viamonte and Santa Fe.

The newstand in front of the Alvear Palace hotel; possibly. Online, probably.

It's sold in countries where there are a lot of affluent British expats -- Middle East, for example. I have never seen it in BA but it could be there, at an exorbitant price if at all. The Telegraph Weekly is better in my opinion.

Isn´t the Guardian an extremely left wing paper? Possibly someone can connect you with someone in Berkeley, Calif (EEUU). It´s probably a "must read" for those folks.

the guardian is a centre/left paper in europe, which I know puts it about 3 blocks to the left of trotsky in the States. In fact, many "old Labour" voters in the UK consider the Guardian to have totally sold out in the last decade or so.

Its extremely left wing if you consider obama a socialist, and glenn beck "fair and balanced"

Online the way to go, same goes for the economist.

How bout the Herald Tribune? Any body seen it? I've seen it in most every other country i've been to.

Its more useful from the expat perspective to know that the Weekly Guardian has historically been positioned as a regional, international and independent paper, vs simply a center left national paper. Regional as in represents the largest industrial city outside London (think Osaka vs Tokyo, and Shanghai vs Beijing to imagine what this means). Independent as in historically had its own reporters and source of finance and not so captive to the establishment.
