Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knew where would be the best place, apart from mercado libre, to by a bbq - also, i presume it is easy to buy coals etc here. It's almost going to like we have a parilla! Also we need a cool box and outdoor fairy lights. Was thinking falabella but if anyone else has any suggestions or a bbq to sell even?!

thanks in advance,

natalie

EASY in Palermo (next to Jumbo) Bullrich 345

They have the "Weber" style grill as well as typical Argentine parillas.

You can log in without registering. Then click on Piletas and Parillas

Many hardware stores have the Argentine style grills (parillas) as well.

PS: The last time anyone asked about "fairy" lights the thread got silly and even a bit offensive.

Isn't there a "politically correct" term for them?

(I know it's NOT Christmas lights.)

thanks for taking the time let me know that info. I'm in San telmo though so somewhere round here would be better

Then just walk up one side of Independencia and down the other...and ask at the hardware stores for a parilla.

A parrilla agrentina is not the same as a parrilla uruguaya or a parrilla brasilera or a parrilla americana, you should figure out exactly what you want and then I'd reccomend buying it on mercado libre, other wise there is a dedicated parrilla store at alberti & autopista 25 de mayo as well as one on belgrano near loria

WELL, at the risk of being bitchslapped by Stevie again, could I suggest the popular Northamerican term "Patio Lanterns"? That may be offensive to the Irish though, as it sounds like the great Irish bard Paddy O'Lantern.

Since I'm neither Irish or a fairy I take no offense.:p

Any ferret shop will sell you one. There's one on almost every street corner.
In fact they'd probably lock the doors until you'd bought one!
