Kudos for Bajo_Cero for fighting segregation where only Argentinians from CABA can compete or at least one of the dancers must be.

I read the link of the original poster and feel the need to reply.

I think the article illustrates that most Asians and Westerners do not ever understand tango.

For Argentines, tango is a social dance. For many Westerners and Asians, it is a competition. Westerners make tango into that you have to earn the right to receive a cabaceo by dancing well and with the right people. Argentines are not so competitive, they dance with whom they like. If they know you or you dance well, it helps. It are other people who turn this into a competition.

Also there are other things about tango most Westerners don't get. They don't get it that to do a cabaceo right you should not make it clear who you want to dance with by moving to the women as if you were going to ask her when nodding the head.

Also, in Europe almost no one understands what an abrazo is. The hands are just hanging there somewhere and men (and women) think it is important to do complicated steps and block the flow on the dance floor, because all they manage is turning around in circles.
