the most the US would do (I think) on the Falk/Malv question is "agree" with argentina that "there need to be talks". They wouldn't come out and say "yeah, we think argentina should gain sovereignty there". That's not going to happen.
AFAIK, the US position is already that there should be talks. Basically every country in the world (except the UK) thinks "there should be talks".
