Why off-duty cops in second jobs ‘kill and die more’ in recession-hit Argentina

"If police officers were not allowed to carry their government-issued guns while they are off duty, the number of ‘trigger happy’ deaths would be significantly reduced,” she said."

Oh no, think of these poor assailant's lives. It's not "trigger happy" when they rob you at gun point and shoot you dead for laughs after taking your car or phone. Won't somebody regulate the only group left with legitimate defense against armed robbery. My god...

Hard to believe but in the previous administration there were motions to have the officers leave their weapons at the precint so they wouldn't walk around armed when not on duty, luckily that didn't pan out, but don't be surprised if that option in thrown on the table again by....... well , we know by who....

You do realize that the police forces in Argentina (other than the Federal Police, with whom one normally doesn't come in contact) are organized by province? The federal government doesn't have much to say with respect to their administration, let alone whether they leave their weapons at the "precinct". Which previous administration of which province might you be referring to?
