Why So Many World Cup Fans Dislike Argentina?

Neuer was always going to get the ball first if anyone is playing recklessly its Higuain challenging the keeper.

As someone posted elsewhere
  • Neuer has every right to go for that ball in the air in the penalty box
  • Higuain is standing in his way waiting for the ball to drop down.
  • Once Neuer gets to the ball, Higuain commits a blocking foul. Seriously, watch every other corner kick when the keeper comes out. The ref is always gonna call that in favour of the GK.
  • Finally, the issue of the "high knee". Some comments asking for a red for Neuer because of that are just comical. Again, watch some corner kicks and in general replays of keepers punching the ball/catching the ball in the air/jumping up etc. EVERY goalkeeper in the world raises that knee when jumping and rushing out. Every single decent one is taught to do so as a kid to protect themselves. If they didn't, the clueless likes of Higuain not aware of the their location would seriously risk injuring keepers. If Neuer doesn't protect himself with the knee, he easily could have been flipped over and in seriously pain.

two players colliding does not a penalty make.

[background=rgb(253, 254, 253)]People see the extreme slow mo replay and think it was less brutal. But Neuer was indeed going to hazard the consequences. One can simply not do that as field player and neither as goalie. Just because you got the ball first doesn't mean you can practice dangerous play and simply accept possible injuries of your opponent. Higuain didn't even see him coming and Neuer rams him down. The rules are clear "[/background]in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless, or using excessive force".

Trying to kick the ball close to your opponents face isnt allowed

..but what [background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]Neuer did is ok?[/background]

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]fine then[/background]

Neuer was going to clear the danger as it is his right as the keeper to do, he jumps up with his thigh protecting him. Higuain paid no attention to his surroundings and gets flattened. No foul No Penalty a throw in to Argentina.

So, not even half of US fans supported "their" team.

Apparently not.... but it's biased. After all, the US is now the second country with most Spanish speakers in the world. (I remember it was 5th place like 10 years ago and I found it very shocking back then)

Do you have any sources to verify that the US is #2? According to the illustrious Wikipedia, it's still #5:
