Yes, we have no bananas...and other former imports too

Oh no. :( Yea, you always have to check those expiration dates on imports! I've come across many a Campbell soup can that was so dusty and dented I didn't even bother to look. :p

On the bright side, I see a lot of pollo a la mostaza in your future! ;)
(or savora as they say here...)

I would avoid buying a dented can no matter wht it contained, otherwise the espiration date may just encourage faster and possibly greater consumption. Fortunatley, the mustard will be usable well past the expiration date, but I'll keep them in the back of the fridge anyway.

A year ago the imported food island at Walmart included Campbell's cream of mushroom soup but it cost almost five US dollars per can. It may be condensed but you still pay for the liquid and the metal as well as the cost of shipping and custom's fees.

I found the Maggi powdered cream of championes (creama premium) soup mix to be even better for about one dollar. It's made by Nestle and imported from Chilie. It may be just as "fresh" as the Campbells version which is probably made from previously dehydrated mushrooms, too.

I hope it continues to be available. Of course I stocked up.

I'm afraid I won't be finding "La Costeña" stuff pretty soon. Sad.
