Zyklon.what Was It And Who Made It?

I think it's clear that the author of the paper I cited finds the definition of the Holocaust to be exclusive to the extermination of six million Jews, but she also believes that the deaths of millions of non-Jews who also were murdered by the Nazis has been obscured by the focus on the Holocaust.

Just want to add (in the author's own words) "[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]as strictly a Jewish event must be corrected." to the sentence in the above quote.[/background]

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]I think the author would agree that (to use Thorsten's exact words) "the most commonly used definition of the Holocaust - in Europe and in the US - is the genocide of Jews by the Nazi regime" but she would like to change that definition to include all of those murdered by the Nazis as detailed in her paper.[/background]

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]Nonetheless, the "Holocaust" will continued to be defined as the extermination of six million European Jews by the Nazi and although many children will learn this in school, they may never learn about the other sixteen to twenty million victims of the Nazi butchers.[/background]

There's a book, called TRADING WITH THE ENEMY that details the business of Big International Business during WWII. It goes into detail about the auto industry General Motors and Ford providing trucks and tanks from their European subsidiaries to the Germans; IT&T controlling the cables world-wide, the petroleum - Standard Oil fueling U-Boats at sea, and chemical industry...a lot of dirty stuff.

The representatives of the international companies used to meet regularly in Switzerland to discuss business...as usual despite the war. It's always about the money!

TRADING WITH THE ENEMY By Charles Higham

Interesting book...

It's one of the reasons the US didn't enter the war until it was attacked. Too many close personal and business ties with Germany. And as CWO mentions, a lot of those companies are still around as well as Bayer...

BTW, further to Steve's correct comments about the Holocaust, no one hardly ever seems to mention the tens of millions of people that Stalin murdered in the Soviet Union during his reign. And he was at it longer than Hitler was.

What is your source for that?

Yes, there were industrial interests between the USA and Germany that could be considered a factor, but isolationism may have been the most influential reason for the delay.

FDR was elected to his third term as President in November of 1940 and he ran on a platform that included isolationism.

"Isolationists in the US did not believe that any war in Europe could really represent a threat to the US. They did not want to get involved in another war like WWI for what they saw as no good reason."

Is denying holocaust a felony in Argentina, as it is some European countries?
