Strange Things You (Would) Pack in Your Suitcase to move to BA!

I brought only 2 extra items: canned pumpkin (for holiday baking) EARPLUGS! I was able to find many of the items listed in previous posts, including baking powder and decent canela. I would like a decent selection of sushi, but I couldn't pack that now, could I?

Cheapest way to book airfare in Argentina?

I don't think the OP had his question answered. Most of the time, cheapest airfares are found on the airline's websites themselves. I have never found a fare on a consolidator's website that was cheaper than what the airline itself offered. If you know your specific destinations, visit the...

    Bad weather forecast for Iguazu

If you are into photography, you would want a sunny day. The lighting really brings out the colours of the trees and water. The ARG side in the evening gives you soft, muted colors of the water and falls. But, with showers, you might get some good rainbows. Good luck.

    Burgers this Sunday (Nov. 15)?

I'd like to attend as well. Is there a specific genre of dishes you're missing (e.g. sides, desserts) that I can bring? Otherwise I can bring a veggie dish. If I can get my hands on chipolte peppers in adobo sauce and liquid smoke I'd make some smokehouse burger patties to bring.

working ain ARG and US taxes

I searched through some previous threads, but didn't find the answer for which I was looking. Can someone explain how the tax process works for an American, working as a contract employee for a US-based company here in ARG and getting paid in pesos? I had to complete a W-9, but I get paid in...

    ingredients for mexican food

thanks all. I looked for these items at Jumbo, Carrefour, Coto and Disco around my neighborhood in Barrio Norte, but didn't have much success. I did purchase dried black beans and made my corn/black bean salad. It's a work in progress. I found one place with meager cilantro and and found...

    ingredients for mexican food

so I fancy myself a decent cook/baker and would like to indulge in some of my favorite recipes. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done, especially with regard to "mexican" food ingredients. I can understand the paucity/absence of some items, but the lack of some basic foods puzzles me...
