Any good seafood restaurants out there? Getting a bit discouraged. NOLA didn't have any catfish or crayfish. Most salmon around here comes from Chilean salmon farms swimming in tons of chemicals and poop. Sushi shops just put all sorts of junk into their rolls. Any halibut steaks, crab...

Bloody. Only 2 possibly decent Asian restaurants on the list. I'm starting to sense BA is a bit isolated from the rest of the world.

Ouch. Starting a war with the Brits. LOL.

    Customer service - lack of

Ha ha. Well, those types of stores are everywhere in the world. I've come across a few tiny miscellaneous stores in Recoleta and have the same thought. I have 2 theories. First one is that they were started by someone with a passion for the product/service (in your case umbrellas) but not...

They can be trained and incented. Look at China and Vietnam. 2 of the fastest growing economics in the last 20 years. Both were supposedly "brainwashed" communist countries. If I want to start a biz again, I'd certainly would consider BA as my market.

    Customer service - lack of

BA sounds like a good place to start a service biz. Maybe more paperwork, but weak competition.

    Vanishing Starbucks

SB coffee is just par, but they've learned from McD to standardize service very well. They do have some pretty plush layouts around the world. Great for digital nomads.

LOL. Thanks for the humor. Yes it does seem many serve the same dishes. That's why I'm looking around for other non-typical restaurants. I came across one Chinese restaurant that was pretty decent but didn't have some of their dishes available for that evening. But that's typical for them to...

I love trying new places, from a hole in the wall to a 3 star Michelin. Does anybody know of a local website that's independent and fairly spot on with their restaurant recommendations?

New "door to door" from Correo ARG: int'l shipments will arrive at home

My experience applies here because we were discussing Customs agency. What "Postal agency" are you referring to that I was dealing with? How are they involved with my FEDEX transaction?

New "door to door" from Correo ARG: int'l shipments will arrive at home

I did not use the USPS, but did use FEDEX. It went through ARG customs at the airport. They stole my cell phone that was inside, retaped it and tried to blame it on FEDEX. FEDEX here wasn't much of any help either.

Yes, I'm taking group lessons now to evaluate an instructor for private lessons. DNI classes are just too crowded, and often has more men than women in the classes, so less partner practice with a woman for me. I'm checking out El Beso and Mundial now.

How Can I Bring Money to Argentina/Uruguay?

Thanks for sharing. The Google translation is still unclear. Is the cash management fee (CME) of 2% is charged every month on your balance? I see there is a branch office in BA. What's the fee for using their debit/ ATM card over here?
