Indeed....but to be fair unlike here Norway's summer doesn't last very long. :)

    Argentina stuck in the 1960's?

Despite the pandemic my butcher, fishmonger, plumber and electrician have all *ucked off to Mar del Plata. That got me remembering what the Glasgow Fair summer holiday fortnight used to be lke when many people went to Blackpool for two weeks at the seaside. Thankfully those days are long gone in...

Looking for a furnished appartment Puerto Madero

To be honest I could never live in Buenos Aires. A couple of days is enough for me.

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

Yes I thought the same when I arrived all those years ago. However, beware once the honeymoon is over. :)

Looking for a furnished appartment Puerto Madero

Only been once to eat at some well known restaurant and thought the same. We've recently let out our BA apartment to the son of a family friend. For me it's ideally situated on Uruguay a couple of blocks from Santa Fe. We decided not to rent it out over a year ago but as we only used it for one...

    Obesity epidemic in BA

I take the view once you're an adult you should eat and drink whatever you want. Normal everyday life has risk attached to it.

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

Maybe deep down I know I don't want to belong? Which if truth be told I don't. Even my wife who has spent most of her life here doesn't.

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

I I failed miserably. All my fault because if I'm being honest about it my heart just isn't in it....never has been.

Probably 493rd time for this question.

Thanks for the info. Yes I had heard it was raised to 66. Last time I checked I just qualified for the full amount however assumed living here put the mockers on ever receiving it. I shall have to study the wording more. Like your sister says, after having paid into it for 35 years I might as...

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

The wife takes care of things like that...I gave up years ago understanding how things work here. :) OSDE does seem to attract more four letter words from the missus than any other company mail.

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

Yes we have a very good health insurance....OSDE I think the company is called. What concerns me most isn't the cost but having to travel to the capital which is a three hour road journey away. Whereas a similar sized town in Scotland to the one I live in here can provide better quality...

Probably 493rd time for this question.

I've no idea what a Social Security Cheque is I'm afraid to say....something US? I qualify for my UK state pension this year and I won't get a penny of it as I don't reside in a country that qualifies to have it paid into. Good job the missus has a few bob or I'd be destitute!! ;)

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

Season's Greetings from the Coffee Chat Group

You're far too easily pleased. I think it's shit!! :) 5 Hispanos is about the best I've had in this little town on the pampa. Even then, I'd rather make do with a jar of Dia instant from Colombia....saves all the faffing about with the ruddy coffee maker.

Season's Greetings from the Coffee Chat Group

Got some of this at the CoOp. Tried it today in my Saeco machine....not impressed I'm afraid to say, even the smell is odd. The best supermarket bought ground coffee at a realistic price I've had in Argentina remains the Segafredo brand. To be fair it's all down to individual taste.

Are food and drinks being adulterated to deal with the lockdowns and inflation?

Heard of her not the Cunningtons. I'll try anything if it slows down the ageing process!! :)

Are food and drinks being adulterated to deal with the lockdowns and inflation?

I suppose we should thankful it's much cheaper here than it is in the UK then. Funnily enough, despite being partial to a G&T with a slice of lemon I've never bought a bottle of Gin here. The 'Schhh you know who' used to be very expensive however I noticed this week in the supermarket the...
