Married to an Argentine citizen, questions about residency

    1. Go to police station here and get it. Doesn't matter that you've been here as a tourist. 2. FBI background check from US. No need to go to US. Use a company that can email the results as well as mail them. 3. Won't be a problem. You also have the precaria option since you're applying for...

So this is that famous inflation yall been talking about

It appears to be working the opposite way lol. Prices up and exchange rates down compared to when I arrived. Let's see if they rebound.

Moving from USA to Argentina....best option with phone?

I always get complaints if making a WhatsApp call or a Voice call if not connected to wifi.

Departing from Ezeiza to fly to USA (March 2022)

I think all of this is going away in the next few months. More and more countries are removing all their restrictions. And it's not really because the world has stopped the spread. They are finally starting to realize that this is an endemic issue and not a pandemic one. All the same countries...

Moving from USA to Argentina....best option with phone?

I've only ever used the combo of Google Fi and Voice. The will never cancel your line if you're not restricting your usage in order to save money. My bill is usually between 80 and 100 each month. Google voice is my actual number. I have Fi so that I always have internet and don't have to worry...

I will have to let someone else speak on that. I've never signed a lease here. But if I interpreted correctly from other threads, semi annual rent increases are sanctioned. I don't know how it all works or even if I'm reading it correctly.

So this is that famous inflation yall been talking about

Wow! If my rent jumped from 1600 to 2400 I'd move. This is why when I actually tried to do a 6 month short term lease they all tried to push it to 2 years. I'll stick to my monthly arrangement. If they want to raise the price 50 percent that's fine because I'm not in a lease and I can just move.

So this is that famous inflation yall been talking about

I eat out often so I'm noticing everything. I've seen a lot of 20 percent increases but that 40 percent increase was shocking. I also notice on this forum a lot that people experience something crazy like a 50 percent rent increase each year or that it could increase 30 percent every 6 months or...

So this is that famous inflation yall been talking about

Last night I went to a restaurant that I often eat at and noticed that half the items on the menu raised in price by a whopping 40 percent. Wow! I've never seen anything like that from a "one day to the next" deal.

Requirements for UK tourist visa for Argentines

I'm guessing at least 90 percent of the people on this site aren't Argentine citizens and don't need a visa for the UK. You might have to go research that on your own.

Thoughts on working remotely in BA with the time difference?

Depending on what type of person you are what you like, that could be the perfect work schedule. BA is very much a night time destination in my opinion. People eat dinner between 9 and midnight it seems. Well at least in palermo and puerto madero. If you like going out at night there's no reason...

Dog shipping service told me dog needs to be crated 10 hours in Ezeiza before 9 hour flight to Miami

So if you just check the dog in as luggage then you're just paying the regular price for extra luggage or is it still an outrageous price?

Dog shipping service told me dog needs to be crated 10 hours in Ezeiza before 9 hour flight to Miami

I'm happy I don't have pets. The costs associated with them can be ridiculous at times.

    Are portenos disproportionately beautiful/handsome?

This depends on your taste. For me I don't consider Argentine women any more or less attractive than any other average country. I've seen a lot of attractive women, but not at a rate that makes me think it is higher here. There are a few other countries that make me think that though.

Unable to obtain student visa in time (from the US). Arriving in BsAs next week. Advice?

To answer your question, yes you will be able to start classes with the tourist visa. But you must be aware that the process with the consulate in the US will be over once you leave without the visa. You cannot continue that specific process once you arrive. You can however, apply for a student...
