It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

Scott's a good guy, and I don't think it's fair for MAGA people to claim him. You're also making a Straw Man by asserting that most Biden voters had a high opinion of his "character." My summary of the election is that it was simply a choice between constipation and diarrhea. Which would you...

It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

There's no proof of that. Biden did very badly with that same demographic because they will always vote GOP, and are pretty much a lost cause for the Democrats. There was an editorial in El País that pointed out the irony that they, more than anyone, should be averse to a strong man, or a...

GHWB is Yale (and Skull and Bones member) like his son.

I think the next demagogue/authoritarian could just as easily come from the other side, and maybe already has. I've taken note of how Kamala more and more deflects criticism of her sketchy record by crying racism and sexism. Even during the Obama presidency, white liberals regarded any...

It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

Some would say this goes back to Dan "I'm as experienced as JFK" Quayle. The common denominator of course, is that all these half-wits have been from the GOP. The Democrats aren't too far behind, though, this may be the first time neither POTUS nor VP is Ivy League-educated.

He'd better not leave any beverages unattended around Kamala. She doesn't seem the type to wait four years for her turn.

I'm so bored...this pandemic has killed me, is there anything to do here?

First Word problems. There are families passing through my neighborhood every day digging through garbage. I'm sure they'd love to switch lives with you.

USA Who will Be President ? Where to Watch

I somewhat disagree. From a policy standpoint, Bush was far, far worse than Trump. Two endless wars (one based on completely fabricated evidence), record deficit, worst recession in a century (until this year), just to name a few things. Most people who hate Trump hate what he stands for, and...

USA Who will Be President ? Where to Watch

I think it's important to look at who the "protesters" are, not just their political banner. In Seattle and Portland the BLM protesters were majority white liberal college activist types and druggies who co-opted the original message into just a general anti-police, anti-Trump movement. In the...

USA Who will Be President ? Where to Watch

The Republican strategy has worked in part because they've convinced poor and working class whites to view themselves as "white" and not poor (because this is a classist concept) and that their economic hardships are the result of being white in a system that gives everyone else advantages over...

I was almost going to say Ford, but it looks like he did do a little bombing in Cambodia.

USA Who will Be President ? Where to Watch

At least Trump, unlike the last few presidents, hasn't started a war. Not yet, at least.

Argentina tops Brazil in the total number of COVID infections per million inhabitants.

Good to know that it was the government and not the pandemic that caused all these problems. I've seen for myself that CABA has turned into the Mogadishu of the Americas.

I vote for Jimmy Carter. At 96, his brain is still functioning bettter than Trump's and Biden's combined.

So are the borders opening now? I thought cases were exploding?

They would have to be pretty stupid to come here instead of going somewhere in the Caribbean. Not to mention that even from CABA it's less of a bureaucratic hassle to fly to a beach in Costa Rica or Colombia than it is to travel to Mar de Plata.

I heard from the US Embassy a while ago that non-residents can transit through SCL as long as they don't leave the terminal. Do you happen to know if this still possible?

Argentina locked down early and hard. Now cases are exploding

Me as well, it's also one of the last remaining English-language media outlets to still have foreign correspondents in the region. Interstingly, Aljazeera's coverage of Latin America is usually quite good. https://www.aljazeera.com/latin-america/

Argentina locked down early and hard. Now cases are exploding

I think there's a story somewhere in that article, but it shouldn't be up to the reader to find it. The unfortunate truth is that Latin America might as well be the dark side of the moon as far as the US media is concerned, unless the story is about drug trafficking, immigration, or Venezuela. I...
