@ Sergio, excellent post! I agree that there is a tendency to idealise and romanticise the simple life which poverty brings. However, it's also interesting to note that suicide rates are higher in developed countries and lower in developing countries.

JG, your comments re Argentina are always so negative. I'm intrigued to know why you continue to live there?
