rumors of a 30% tax on expenses made abroad

Thank you, I wasn't aware that so much money was being held abroad. What is your opinion on the increased retention % for the agriculture industry? Fernandez makes the argument that there isn't really an increase because the peso/USD exchange rate his risen dramatically (not sure I understand...

Evo Morales is in Argentina... Breaking news!!!

Regardless of what one thinks about Morales being in Argentina, things like this happening don't really help the cause: https://www.lanacion.com.ar/seguridad/detuvieron-oran-al-consul-bolivia-ocho-kilos-nid2316523 Comments at the bottom of the article are interesting to read, too.

rumors of a 30% tax on expenses made abroad

I always enjoy reading your analyses Donald. What actions do you see the government taking to bring USD into Argentina, other than the promise of developing Vaca Muerta to attract outside investors?

Is the Arg peso to USD exchange rate in other countries a sign of things to come?

Thanks Ben, that makes perfect sense.

Is the Arg peso to USD exchange rate in other countries a sign of things to come?

That's what I was wondering about also. There's a penalty for selling Arg pesos to buy USD, but as Looking To Thrive said the rate to sell a USD and buy pesos is more or less normal.

Cost of living vs. salaries in Cap Fed

I see, thank you. So it is similar to a capital gains tax and the extra cost is being passed through to a new buyer. Now I understand why there is such a big change.

Cost of living vs. salaries in Cap Fed

Thanks Pennsylvania, I replied to Doctor Rubliar before I read your message, but even factoring that in it still seems like a big price swing. I know the real estate business pretty well, although not so much in BA, but I wonder if there is also a shortage of that particular size of housing to...

Cost of living vs. salaries in Cap Fed

Doctor, thank you. I did look at the value of the peso, but what I am trying to understand is this: If the peso exchange rate increased by about 50%, why would real estate prices increase by 200% over the same time period. I can understand a 1:1 correlation, more or less, but to see such a...

Cost of living vs. salaries in Cap Fed

EDIT: Maybe a better post headine is: "Cost of buying an apartment vs. salaries in Cap Fed" but don't see a way to change it at this point.

Cost of living vs. salaries in Cap Fed

I ran across this article in La Nacion the other day and was wondering if anyone remembers what happened in August of last year that caused this ratio to change so suddenly? Read the article a couple of times but didn't see an explanation for the 'why', only the 'what'. Trying to figure out...

    Recommendation For Short-Term Apartment Rental

Looking for a one-bedroom apartment end of January through beginning of March when I return to Buenos Aires to research my resident visa options. Prefer Palermo neighborhoods or Las Cañitas and am familiar with Airbnb and 4RentArgentina. Wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for local...
