$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

I would wonder why the government would discourage Americans and Europeans from coming there to spend money in their economy? Seems they'd want more coming in and spending like crazy.

$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

So for now Americans sending money to themselves through Western Union aren't affected(yet)?

Where do you expect to be in one year's time?

I need to go back and look at the two sources I saw that on. Based on what you posted they are way off.

Where do you expect to be in one year's time?

I'm sorry but what exactly isn't correct? They announced they are averaging one new case a day now. Not hundreds or thousands.

Where do you expect to be in one year's time?

I see where Sweden is now seeing about 1 new case a day. They didn't shutdown like everyone else and apparently the virus has run through most of the population. They had 12,000+ deaths but appears it's pretty much over now.

    If Not Argentina Then Where?

Been told it's nice outside of summer by someone who lives there.. Would like to live in Pinamar but heard it's dead outside of summer and very expensive. Tandil is an option too.

    If Not Argentina Then Where?

I'm counting on Starlink internet or 5G to have good internet at home. Outside of that going out to lunch somewhere and getting a good walk in, taking in an occasional movie will be about all I'll be doing. Once in awhile rent a car and take a roadtrip. My wife wants to live on the ocean but...

    If Not Argentina Then Where?

A friend of mine noticed that Bahia Blanca had a lot of reasonably priced Airbnb rentals. To him the fact that it doesn't have a nice beach so isn't swamped in the summer makes it very attractive. I prefer trees and grass to concrete so am focused on small towns. Salta is definitely on the...

    If Not Argentina Then Where?

It's been 10 years since I started this thread and as many said here things will look very different years down the road. I suspect few thought it would be cheaper though. I've done some traveling since 2017, and was planning to come to Argentina right before Covid-19 hit. Was in Albania at...

Does the travel ban really end today?

I for one don't think that, enjoy your posts. For some reason though every time I read them I hear Sam Elliott's voice. :)

How much of the appeal for expats towards Argentina is race-based?

Since about 75% or so are of Spanish and Italian origin it could be said that a high percentage of the population has some African/Middle Eastern heritage.

    So much for herd immunity?

P.S. I have read history, studied it for most of my 58 years.

    So much for herd immunity?

I'm perfectly fine with improving capitalism. Countries that go the socialism route tend to end up broke. But I don't want to be in a culture that says you must see it our way, do as we say, or we'll cancel you. Too much of that going on right now.

Maybe Villa Carlos Paz near Cordoba?

    So much for herd immunity?

Too many people are saying across the internet that we must now completely reorder society, deal with climate change, etc, because of this pandemic. Of course we must use common sense. But we must not let people take advantage of a crisis to seize power. As for the Chinese, they were...

    So much for herd immunity?

If you believe the Chinese. I saw estimates from about a month ago that more than 600,000 have died in China. One funeral home had ordered over 5000 urns alone and others wouldn't say. Well after the Chinese said it was over they had another shutdown and yet mysteriously very few new deaths...

    So much for herd immunity?

Just perusing some websites on Google. One theory is that it spread from Chinese or Vietnamese migrant workers in the U.S. or France. Since it killed 50 million plus worldwide but only 675,000 in the U.S. I doubt the U.S. was the origin of the virus. As virulent as it was it certainly would...

    So much for herd immunity?

The virus definitely did not start in the U.S. although Wikipedia being open sourced I can guess why some would say it that way.

    So much for herd immunity?

From what I read it originated in China, spread to Europe during WWI, was so bad in Spain it was called the Spanish Flu, infected and killed a lot of soldiers, and soldiers brought it back with them and due to them being in barracks together in places like Ft. Riley, KS then released to go home...
