Go to Uruguay every 90 days.. or just stay in AR and pay a fine later?

Here's what I do... this probably only applies to Canadians and people from certain European countries (Scandinavia for example) that have 100% free full medical coverage. I buy a special kind of travel insurance that is about as all-encompassing as it gets... if I need to see a doctor or go to...

Go to Uruguay every 90 days.. or just stay in AR and pay a fine later?

Do you mean 'the latter' as in doing the VISA extension you did 3 times in 4 years? Does that imply they would prefer a person to do the Uruguay trip instead? Thanks for helping out... much appreciated of course.

Go to Uruguay every 90 days.. or just stay in AR and pay a fine later?

I'll probably never give up my Canadian citizenship based solely on the fact I am guaranteed a good pension and free medical coverage for the rest of my life.

Go to Uruguay every 90 days.. or just stay in AR and pay a fine later?

Wow.. ok that almost seems too good to be true (*like the saying goes "If it sounds too good to be true... it probably is"). But I'm starting to actually believe this could be an exception to that old saying! If that's the case then I'm in a situation where I can stay here basically forever if I...

Go to Uruguay every 90 days.. or just stay in AR and pay a fine later?

Thank you so far to everyone here for all the helpful advice. Here is one more scenario I am concerned about regarding all this. Let's say I stay here in BA for a year or whatever without ever setting foot in Uruguay... and I want to go back to Canada for a visit, but then return to BA again...

Go to Uruguay every 90 days.. or just stay in AR and pay a fine later?

Thanks for the reply. So let me get this straight.... If I decide to stay here in BA for years even as a perma-tourist... don't bother going to Uruguay every 90 days for the visa renewal... if/when I finally decide to leave Argentina... they just ask for the fine and don't arrest you for...

Go to Uruguay every 90 days.. or just stay in AR and pay a fine later?

Hi, My apologies if this question has been definitively answered in this forum somewhere previously (*I have read many, many threads on this here.. but none seemed to unequivocally answer this question). Should I go to Uruguay every 90 days to get a new tourist visa... or is it better to just...

    Normal Laundromats?

Hi, I am currently located in Recoleta and just wondering if there are normal laundromat's somewhere close by where I can wash my own clothes vs. dropping them off for someone else to do the work? Yesterday it cost me roughly $12 USD for a load of laundry that would have cost me maybe $5 at a...

    Moving in January!

When I came to Argentina from Canada last week nobody in either country said anything to me whatsoever... when I arrived in BA at the airport all Argentine customs did was ask for my entry fee, then they stamped my passport for the full 90 days and said have a nice stay!

Just moved to BA from Vancouver, Canada

Hello, I just moved here 4 days ago from Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada). Living in Recoleta and trying to get to know the city better and hopefully meet some locals and expats. Is there anywhere in BA to go watch NHL ice hockey games from North America? Salute
