    Nueva DNI Tarjeta para Extranjeros

I'm curious to know what the Nueva DNI Tarjeta para Extranjeros looks like. I know what the ones for citizens look like and saw on Google search what the cover of the old libreta looks like for foreigners with a big "EXTRANJERO" on the cover. I can't seem to find any images for the new...

    phone charges to US

Wow. 10 pesos for an hour. That's it? That's cheap. Seems to contradict what nicoenarg is saying. Regarding Skype, I may not have a smartpone down there(might have an iphone, not sure at this moment). If I only have a simple phone I don't want to be limited to talking to friends and family...

    phone charges to US

Hi, From reading posts here I've seen that Claro is a good provider. When I come down on vacation I want to get a sim card and be able to call home and have them call me. About what are the prices per minute with a prepaid card to the US. NY specifically. Thanks. sab15

Enrolling at UBA, first timer ~ Please Help!

I was wondering, is the tuition the same for foreigners and citizens/residents? And, in either case, what is it? Does it work on a peso amount per credit? What about taking classes a la carte (i.e. not going for a specific degree)? Oh, one last question: Do they have Spanish classes for...

    Eye glasses prices in BA

Hmm. Maybe I'll try for the $100 deal while down there. Up here, that would be impossible. I want a back up pair of glasses, just don't feel like spending $300 plus. Luckily my company's vision plan coverd about half, but now I've blown that and would have to pay for a 2nd pair on my own.

2 apt. possibilities and noise level

Just as an update. I got an apt. at Gurruchaga and Charcas. Not the exact one I had mentioned here, but same location. I'm psyched!!! It also has a pool, which is a real bonus. I see the weather end March/early April can be a bit variable - i.e. drop into the 60's and also go up to the...

    Eye glasses prices in BA

Hi, I'm wondering if it's inexpensive down there to buy lenses and frames. Can someone tell me about what it costs for a generic frame and scratch protection, glare proof thin lenses? As a basis for comparison, my current glassses cost about $320 in NYC. I'm not including the cost of an...

2 apt. possibilities and noise level

Thanks a lot all!!! Btw, what is the approximate walking time from Gurrachaga and Charcas to Colonel Diaz. On the map it's about 10 blocks, but I don't know how long the blocks are down there. I would guess about a 10 minute walk.

Weather end March beginning April and A/C

Hi, I'm coming down the last week in March/first week in April. I know it's the end of summer and should be cooler than the peak summer days. My question is related to apartments and air conditioning at this specific time of the year. I need a 2 bedroom and all apartments have different...

2 apt. possibilities and noise level

Hi, I see 2 nice possibilities of apartments to rent for 2 weeks in March. One is at Gurrachaga and Charcas (14th floor). The other is by Coronel Diaz and Charcas (7th floor). Considering that they are equal in quality, what area would be considered better? I'm also concerned about noise level...

Vacation in BA last week of March and first week of April

Hi All, I'm planning a trip to BA the last week in March and the first week in April. I just found out that April 2nd (Malvinas Day), April 5th (Maundy Thursday) and April 6th (Good Friday) are public holidays. How is the city on those days? Is it dead and everyone with their families? Shops...

Immigration visa TO the U.S. for an Argentine?

Oh, sorry. I was speaking from my experience. I didn't realize Argentina had different rules. Years ago I married my South African girlfriend. I don't remember ever getting a fiancee visa. I guess the rules are different for each country. It was all honest though. We loved each other and...

How do Argentines refer to their DNI cards?

I was wondering how Argentines refer to their DNI cards. Like, do they say "mi de-ene-i", or do they blur the vowels and make a word like "deni". Anyway, just curious. Thanks.

Immigration visa TO the U.S. for an Argentine?

Correct. But, even better, have her come on a tourist visa and just do everything in the US. In the US divorce is much easier I guess than Argentina. And, pretty cheap. I think you can do it for just a couple hundred bucks, maybe less. Although, hopefully you will be married happily ever...
