    Relish..the thought of.

I have not found Reggiano Parmigiano, but got some Parmigiano from Queso Queso that was pretty good, and provolone. Have not found Buffala Mozzarella at all even though I Googled a company here that apparently has their own herd of water buffalo. I have not even bothered to look for Piave, and...

    Relish..the thought of.

Going to the States for some work thing, so looks like I probably will bring some back, along with the maple syrup and quality Italian Olive Oil. I only wish they made "refrigerated" suitcases so I could bring some Mozzarella di buffala, some piave, some VT cheddar, Reggiano Parmigiano. Thanks...

    Relish..the thought of.

I have looked around, but has anyone found hot dog relish (perhaps known as "relish de los panchos") Hoping to find "sweet relish" or "india relish", (frankly, not sure of the difference) thanks.

    Pancake breakfast?

Wait, is it going to be a Tim Horton's? I don't think he will have to worry so much about any argentinians queueing up for fountain sodas in Palermo at American breakfast time. No one moves here until noon.

    iPhone "tech" support questions

Sleuth: Well after about 5 hours, the website you suggested and countless YouTube videos made by 15 year old kids around the world on "How to jailbreak", "Unlock", "enter DFU mode" and so forth, I finally did it. Downgraded a 3G from 4.0.2 to 3.1.3 and it is unlocked and using a Claro SIM. I...

    iPhone "tech" support questions

I was hoping there was an iPhone expert that could help me answer some "tech" questions having to do with "jailbreak" and "unlock". I have an older 3g phone (not the oldest models of iphone, but older). Anyway, I had mistakenly "upgraded" to iOS 4.0.2 before finally jailbreaking and...

If You Don't Enjoy BA now...

Right!! Is it always this hot this early in the summer? I could totally go for a nice "Alberta Clipper" to just cool things down so I actually feel like going outside. Its oppressive.

Anyone come back from the US in the past week or two?

You should really be trying to figure out what proof you will need (if possible) to qualify for the Argentine fare for your domestic flights. That may make the tax issue less if you can save on all your internal flights.

Anyone come back from the US in the past week or two?

About the proof of onward travel and such. I faced a similar issue in September as Continental would not let me book a one way nor book a flight beyond 90days. I posted to this board and got several responses (maybe do a search) the recap of is this: Yes, it is apparently true that Argentina...

    Amazon/camera/NYC

Yes, very true, but they have like an entire Kabbutz of employees working there, with a well oiled system and it moves quicker than any Disco or Carrefour line here.

    Predictions for 2011

I do believe that if the wind appears to be blowing the wrong way, she will bow out as the "grieving widow" and then it will be a scramble for the top of the ant hill.

    Screen Printed T-shirts

I need to have T-shirts made for a project and was wondering several things: 1. Does anyone know or use a good screen printer here in BA (preferably in Palermo area)? Does not have to be the most talented and the project manager is super "price conscious" (read "cheap"). Reliability is more...

    In Lieu of a Garantia

I have not navigated this maze yet, but my answer to all of these things is my motto of New York: "There is no such thing as no, just how much." If you were able to offer several months rent in advance even a year, I am sure many landlords will go for it. (After all the garantia is just to...

Christmas & NYE in BA - What to do? Anyone want to join forces?

For Christmas, I am having a friend from New York bring me a glass jar full of melted snow, so that I can mix my tears into it, due to "non-seasonal" depression. 34 degrees, sunny, shorts, no snow, no pine trees taller than my knee and thoughts of attending a barbecue......*sniff**sniff* Santa...

    playgroup 0-3yrs?

Sharon: There is a Gymboree that my wife takes our 14 month old son to. It is in Palermo (in the "Starbucks complex" on Malabia (and Costa Rica I think?)). They have "open play" for "pre-walkers" this afternoon. Then they also have a "structured" class once a week as well. I think it is...

    Homeless peasant foam pad

There is a foam store on Cordoba between Thames and Uriarte(or maybe it is Serrano and Thames). It is just next door to a place that sells amazing Antique doors. It's on the side of Cordoba that is the Palermo Soho side, not the side with the bank and the car dealership. Looks closed but sign...

    Charity Toy Drives in BA?

Hi all, my wife and I usually donate toys to charity for Christmas as opposed to buying our relatives gifts they really don't need. (We make the donations in their names). Back home they had the U.S. Marine Corps "toys for tots" and it was pretty easy, just drop them off at a local "collection...
