Taxation Of Overseas Income For Argentinian Citizens.

No, Australians are not obligated by law to report where they're physically located. Leaving the country creates an immigration event when the traveller fills out an immigration declaration card and answer questions such as 'are you leaving Australia permanently?'. Immigration shares the card...

Taxation Of Overseas Income For Argentinian Citizens.

Agreed. What I'm about to share with you is difficult to find, even from a so called tax experts as the majority, 99.9%, only deal with domestic tax issues and not complex international tax treaty issues. A lot of what I'm about to share is in relation to Argentina and Australia so if you're...

Value Of The Usd V.s. The Peso

I don't get it. If they're buying dollars, why is the Peso going up?

Value Of The Usd V.s. The Peso

Ok, so it's the 'supply side' of the equation. To much Peso demand, it seems, is driving up the value. I wonder when an equilibrium will be reached because it's patently clear that the Peso is extremely overvalued.

Value Of The Usd V.s. The Peso

Exactly what I think too. The currency is almost treated like it's part of a carry trade. If inflation is running at say 30% and interest is 35% then the saver is up 5%. The reverse is also true too... Inflation at 40%, interest at 35%... the saver is down 5%

Value Of The Usd V.s. The Peso

Thanks everybody for your excellent ideas about this. Given that the price is set by supply and demand, could it be that the central bank here has turned off the printing presses to limit inflation and this has had a double effect of limiting the supply of pesos thereby driving up its value?

Value Of The Usd V.s. The Peso

Does anybody have an idea as to why the peso value is INCREASING relative to the dollar in the face of 40% inflation? I would have though that the USD would be a natural hedge against inflation but it seems that the reverse is happening. The only explanation I have is that there is somehow a...

    Uber Is Gaining Momentum

I went out for dinner with my wife last night and we took uber. It was delightful. New cars, no cash and a friendly drivers. We weren't abducted and the car didn't crash or explode in a ball of flames. Did we break the law? Who knows but some might argue that citizens are obligated to take...

I Want To Divorce My Abusive Argentina Wife, But Stay Here!

Firstly, if you think that your life is in danger and the life of your child is in danger then you must get out. If she has a history of physical violence then it's probably only a matter of time before things get even worse. If you don't think that your life is in danger then get video...

Buying Online From Os Since Macri Got In... Is It Easier?

I let them keep it. I can only imagine their puzzled faces when they eventually opened the package expecting to find something valuable only to find useless circuit boards. Packages are supposed to be returned after a period of time to the sender but the Chinese factory I used didn't receive...

Buying Online From Os Since Macri Got In... Is It Easier?

Does anybody have recent experience buying something from overseas and shipping it to your address in Argentina using a courier? There was some talk a few months ago when Macri got in that things would get easier. Has anybody actually bought something and had it shipped to your address using a...

    Uber Is Live In Ba

Actually, Uber can and is playing a third game, an international game that hedges international treaties and agreements between countries. You'll find that international tax and trade agreements trump local laws. Look at the trade agreements and tax agreements first and you may find that Uber is...

    Uber Is Live In Ba

Uber isn't technically a taxi company. Do they actually own any cars? To be a taxi don't you first need to own a car that's actually a taxi? Uber drivers are independent contractors, not employees so how can Uber be classified as a taxi? If the government wants to block access to a range of...

    Uber Is Live In Ba

Not true because it all depends on the tax treaty argentina has with the country of tax residence Uber has. Tax treaties exist so that companies and persons don't pay tax twice so in the case of Uber, they pay tax on profits in the country in which they reside, not Argentina. It seems you could...

    Uber Is Live In Ba

Agreed!! Further, they should attack the high government compliance costs rather than attack Uber. If they were providing a great economical service then competing services like Uber wouldn't face a chance.

    Uber Is Live In Ba

Does Uber remove demand for transport services? The way I see it, taxis exist ONLY because there is demand for the transportation of people on an ad-hoc basis and this won't go away anytime soon. Uber is providing a cheaper, transparent and more efficient service that the consumer wants...

    Uber Is Live In Ba

Good points. Uber is not the problem, rather, it is the answer to an industry that is burdened with costs and controls. Uber is just a mirror and the Taxi industry doesn't like what it sees. It's an old, ugly cash (tax evading) business burdened by compliance, red tape and costs. The industry...

    Macri's Amnesia

Good point... analogous to owning a gun... not illegal provided the laws are followed but if in the wrong can be used for harm. Is the entire premise of this thread flawed?

    Macri's Amnesia

I have a few simple questions: Can somebody please explain how an offshore company = offshore bank account? Call me simple but I though they were different things. Is there any evidence that the company that named Macri as director had bank accounts? Lastly, if a bank account existed, is...
