The airline was TAM but when i tried to book directly through TAM instead of vayama.com it increased in price from $600 to about $1300. So definitely use travel booking websites such as vayama and orbitz and expedia instead...

I used vayama.com to book a $600 one-way flight through TAM airlines from Charlotte to BA in September. Granted, I flew through Orlando and Sao Paolo but it was a great deal.

You might want to consider the neighborhood of Martinez, close to La Lucila but probably not within walking distance of the school. Definitely within a 10 min drive. It's quite a nice suburb!
