    Dealing with blackouts

If you have a DNi and your building has a portero/doorman who can accept deliveries and bring them to your apartment, you can buy several items on Mercado Libre that will serve you very well during a power outage. Delivery is free for purchases that total at least $33.000. Items that are...

    Visa extension

Based on the fact that you previously indicated that you arrived in Argentina on Oct 24, 2025, it looks like you made the "visa run" to Uruguay almost a full month before your tourist visas would expire, there simply wasn't any reason for your trip to trigger any issues upon reentry It's the...

Residencia Transitoria/Temporaria por estudios & other issues

.....after the three consecutive years without annual renewals. ...as if they were applying for the first time, ad long as their current temporary residency and any grace period had not expired (perhaps due to delays in any of the annual renewals.

Residencia Transitoria/Temporaria por estudios & other issues

I never heard of a temporary residency that was granted for three years before reading about it in this thread. I can only speak from the personal experience of having temporary residency (aka: visa pensionado) which was granted for one year in late October of 2006. I "renewed" the temporary...

Diet: Living on beef and eggs

Gee. I sure hope that at least some of the "opinions" expressed on YouTube are based on observable facts that provide sufficient evidence to support their assertions and that anyone capable of "critical thinking" will be able to draw reasonable conclusions based on them. In spite of all of the...

Diet: Living on beef and eggs

A great deal of what I have "learned" about the carnivore diet has been from two doctors who have been highly active on youtube in recent years. Here they are together in one of those videos. The first person I ever heard about who was eating only beef and drinking only water is Jordan...

Diet: Living on beef and eggs

If I wanted to "ignore" the other video (by Dr. Layne Norto) in post #59 I would not have posted it. I haven't commented in response to any of the,l "anti-seed oil" videos and I am not advocating the carnivore diet. I did not start this thread. I only want to share what I am eating, why I have...

Need a referral for a tax lawyer.

You will need the services of the escribano of your choice regarding the title and the closing, regardless of your immigration status. An Argentine accountant, suggested by or already working with the escribano should be able to answer your questions about the wealth tax (bienes personales)...

End of Dual citizenship for US passport holders?

I don't know if Andrew mentioned it in this video, but in an other video he indicated that he, a former US citizen, was denied a tourist visa to enter the USA:

My Experience Getting the Rentista Visa in 2025

Staying around BA "whilst doing the process" is essential. After you are granted residency, you can live anywhere in Argentina that you desire. Just be sure to let the nearest office of migraciones know where you are. You may have to pay a small fee to have your file transfered to them as I did...

My Experience Getting the Rentista Visa in 2025

https://www.migraciones.gov.ar/radex/ The first thing you will see after the English translation appears is: "Remote residency for foreigners." It's the online process of applying for residency.

    Visa extension

@jorisw: IF you leave and return before your original 90 day tourist visa expires, I believe the worst that could happen is that migraciones will allow you to reenter, but does not give you a new 90 day visa. If that happens, you could still go to migraciones in Retiro like Johnny Kawartha did...

    Visa extension

Full disclosure: I never made a visa run or had an overstay. I did get one 90 day extension (as permitted) at migraciones in Retiro, and I was granted temporary residency before it expired. I don't know why migraciones would give anyone "more scrutiny" for complying with their rules and...

    Visa extension

If you are still on your first 90 day tourist visa, granted when you entered Argentina. you should be able to leave and return and receive a new 90 day tourist visa without any problem. I have not read anything that indicates that the limit of 180 days of a "rolling year" has changed.

Diet: Living on beef and eggs

Even if I had no access to beef or lamb, or pasture raised chicken eggs, I would choose to eat soy and corn fed poultry and eggs over anything else (including ALL grains, seeds, legumes, fruits and vegetables), and I would only cook the eggs with beef tallow/lard and the poultry in an air fryer...
