    Papel Manteca / Parchment Paper

I would think at Dona Clara they would actually know a lot about what works, and what is available in Argentina. They are not like a Target or Aldis, where the hourly employees punch in and out and know little about the stock. I have had very good luck learning from specialty retailers in...

    Papel Manteca / Parchment Paper

Grueso papel aluminio is on mercado libre in 25 and 35 microns. it exists. Probably, as always, easiest to find in CABA, in the wholesale restaurant supply neighborhood, but my guess is if you search on Mercado Libre, and ask them, you can get the 35.

    Papel Manteca / Parchment Paper

I think Cocina con Valentio has it Viamonte 758, C1053 Cdad. Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Did you check Dona Clara? they are still the go to for baking and quality cooking supplies. On Corrientes.

Has Argentina Become Worse Or Better for Foreign Retirees recently?

Considering that the Milei government includes many lifelong peronists in positions of power, and that the definitions of peronism AND milieism are fluid and vary widely depending on the opinion holder, my opinions about milei have nothing to do with exchange rates, but, instead, how my...

Seems citizenship by investment is kind of dead in the water?

I dont really think AI is very predictive about the current vagaries of US immigration policies, since trump has been arbitrarily announcing changes by executive orders all the time, but actual laws are not being changed by congress, and enforcement at entry is arbitrary, local, and...

Has Argentina Become Worse Or Better for Foreign Retirees recently?

regardless of whether you earn in pesos, or bring in euros, dollars, or rubles, everything is more expensive. inflation has slowed, but its certainly not gone. everybody has different incomes, sources of money, and opinions on what things "should" cost, but the prices still keep going up...

Seems citizenship by investment is kind of dead in the water?

for whatever reason, (and I certainly have my opinons) the government is pretty much immobilized, and has been for quite a while, except for executive orders cutting employees or funding. Most government agencies are understaffed, overworked, and have lost a lot of senior, experienced employees...

Has Argentina Become Worse Or Better for Foreign Retirees recently?

I am in the USA now, got here last week. Where I live, in the pacific northwest, pretty much everything except cheap chinese imports is MUCH more expensive than Buenos Aires. I just took my Honda in for service- $189.00 per hour shop time. $16 burritos. All restaurant prices here do NOT include...

Why traveling on public transport in Buenos Aires has become hell

seems like they are conflating two very different, but related things- Milei has cut the budgets and support for public transportation. nowhere on earth does public transportation make a profit- it always requires subsidies, as it is a government service. so cutting support inevitably results...

Caputo announces return of public works

I think they could start by just changing the bulbs and paying the electric bills for the autopistas. I have driven thru Pilar, after dark, bunper to bunper, with none of the roadway lights functioning, more than once, post milei.

Whats up with Argentines not wanting business?

Its an unfortunate fact that many many things are only available in Buenos Aires. Its a small country, and the money is highly concentrated. You can buy a new ferrari in Pilar, but a new Ford pickup, in stock in Catamarca, might cost you a third more than one in CABA. There is a reason why every...

How are foreigners handling everyday payments in Buenos Aires?

my son was just here from the states for a week- he used apple pay on his phone almost everywhere, worked fine, told him immediately the exchange rate, no added surcharges. I have a us visa card that gives me a decent rate, so for certain purchases, I use my visa. Debit is better- many merchants...

    Obtaining Argentine citizenship

Yes, I am saying that we did the 3 year pensionista, because in my life I could not, and did not want to, live here without leaving for two years before engaging in an uncertain court process. For me, and many other people, the idea that you WILL end up with the residency, in a predictable time...

I Went To See A Band...

I wanted to recommend these events- Espacio Norah is the former home of Borge's sister, Norah, and its a small artspace now. Its a comfortable apartment across from Galeria Pacifico, and it fits 20 to 30 people, and the concerts are intimate and wonderful. You would need to reserve, but its well...

    Obtaining Argentine citizenship

we just got residency 120 days after completing 3 years of a pensionista visa. So just over 3 years, start to finish. This route allows you to come and go during the 3 years, as long as you spend the majority of each year in Argentina. But things are constantly changing.

Free market Argentina proves capitalism is the answer to poverty

I believe this article is a gift from Amazon for Milei making it easier for them to deliver to Argentina.

Let's go for a walk through Villa 31

I actually met some one, a few years ago, who rented an apartment in a villa. He was a pretty normal argentine 20 something, not rich, didnt have expensive belongings he was worried about. It was the one at the south end of puerto madero, near boca. He was perfectly happy, the rent was lower...

Let's go for a walk through Villa 31

I dont say he used Ai before it existed- just that he has been pretty convincingly accused of using it recently to make his videos look scarier. again, its not journalism, its not researched- its theater. Its a scary movie, and the hero always wins.

Let's go for a walk through Villa 31

besides being a total idiot, this guy "Kurt" bases all his youtube vids on going to dangerous places, and, miraculosly, EVERY SINGLE TIME, not being killed or robbed. Its theater. My guess is he has paid advance men, finding him situations and people to "interview". Its called "poverty tourism"...
