How many of us are still here?

To actually clarify, we afford the basics that include private school, private insurance, our car, getting food delivery once a week, having a varied home cooked diet, etc. I think we live reasonably well. I refuse to validate 35 usd min to eat out per person, or 150 usd for a pair of shoes...

How many of us are still here?

Honestly it really does not look like they will make a comeback anytime soon. Just this week Milei said the " the days of Argentina cheap in dollars are over ". I don't know how sustainable all of this is. In my household we feel poorer everyday, just affording the basics. Thankfully we do not...

How many of us are still here?

The bottom line is that 22% of the people are ok, and almost 80% are scraping by. I don't feel I have the ability to explain how Argentina, the country with the largest middle class in South America ended up like this, I am sure there are multiple factors, but to say that it was the Ks or...

How many of us are still here?

I honestly do not think that people earning salaries in pesos are doing great because raises have not kept up with inflation at all. There is a reason why pharmacies are selling less medication and supermarkets and grocery stores are having record low sales as well. The bottom line is that the...

How many of us are still here?

At one point we owned property in tg US and we were renting it out. It was insane everytime we had to fix anything. It was very expensive, and work is not always great. Here you find a variety of vendors, from very good to horrific but way more affordable.

How many of us are still here?

When we visited the US last Feb FL, SC, NC, GA I did not think it was cheap at all. Better quality items, yes, but groceries, utilities, entertainment, etc was way more expensive. Then again, you have to think in terms of earning a US salary to measure the cost of living there. Argentina makes...

Need advice on how to litigate and recover my loss from a potential fraud.

I believe the very first thing to do would be to file a report with the police in Arg. I think this matter belongs to criminal law, at least in Arg. ( scam, fraud ). I have no idea what you should do in the US, but I guess under the current administration maybe report him to ICE?. Do you know if...

Buy / sell vehicle without residency - taxes due?

Whatever you buy before marriage is solely yours, so your partner does not have any rights to it. Depending on the value you will have to pay taxes on it if you become a permanent resident. You will also need to get a local professional drivers license depending on the size of the vehicle.
