This is true - at least in part - for me and my family (Argentine husband and two sons who were born here). However, now more than ever, I would never return to the USA to reside, for my children more than anything. I am absolutely disgusted and horrified that RFK Jr. is the secretary of the HHS.
Both of my sons are on the autism spectrum, and apart from this dangerously incompetent individual claiming (among other pelotudeces) that autism is preventable and that people with autism will "...
never pay taxes. They'll never hold a job. They'll never play baseball. They'll never write a poem. They'll never go out on a date..." and the gutting of IDEA and the department of education, I would no sooner send my kids to a school in the States than I would be a teacher there again (read: HELLLLLLLLL no).
I'm not saying that Argentina is a Shangri-La, but at least I can keep my family afloat as a teacher and my children here are able to avail of vital services, therapies, and other resources that are simply no more back in the US of A. There is absolutely nothing left for me there anymore.
It didn't have to be this way
