    Charles Schwab - need information

Right. Giving my US bank or broker any indication that I live outside the US is asking for trouble.

    Charles Schwab - need information

Ditto. I've been with Schwab for 25 years with no problems. I particularly like the phone support. Whatever the issue, they answer the phone quicker, resolve the issue and get me off the phone quicker than anyone else I deal with. I had to open a Schwab Bank Account to get a debit card...

    I need a beach

I, too, was there years ago. I stayed outside Salvador near Praia do Forte which was a lovely little beach with a turtle sanctuary. As you say Salvador was a colorful, lively town but the locals projected intense hatred to visitors. They'd glare at us and make small gestures when we passed...

    I need a beach

Yes, that sounds wonderful. It's about 80f there now. Our doctors strongly urge us to limit the time we spend in the sun. Is there anything to do, sightseeing, etc outside the resort?

    I need a beach

I'm having strong craving for some beach time you know sitting on a recliner, soaking up some sun, llistening to the surf and admiring passing bikinis. My problem is that I'm having trouble finding the right destination. The temperature Rio is only in the '70s. Panama, Florida, The Caribbean...

    Weekend resort

Thanks Frank. For years we've been going to Almarena in Costa del Este. It's quite luxurious and has everything, very good food and terraces overlooking a beautiful beach that's occasionally visited by penguins and sea lions. But it's a four hour drive and, now that we have more grandchildren...

    Weekend resort

Thanks guys I looked at the hotels you suggested, the look quite suitable for our weekend away. Noisy kids shouldn't be a problem after our brood gets there.

    Purchasing a car

In 2023 I bought a new Hyundai Creta with automatic for 23k-usd. I'm quite pleased. It was on the showroom floor so we had delivery in a few days.

    Charles Schwab - need information

I highly recommend them. As I've posted elsewhere, I'm continually impressed with the people they have answering their phones. They're knowledgeable and smart and very patient. I have a debit card, savings account and brokerage account with them. I also like that each of their departments like...

Old, confused and appreciative of help.

Yes, non-U.S. citizens can open a bank account in the U.S. When you open a bank account at Bank of America, you’ll need to provide two forms of identification, a tax identification number and documents that show proof of both a foreign and ****U.S. address*****...

Banks will not let you have an account unless you reside in the U.S so it's important to have a mailing address in the US, a US drivers license and a US phone number. Also the US and Argentina are beginning to share information so stay away from any official Arg systems.

I have found the Schwab phone reps to be infinitely patient and capable when helping me organize my finances. I suggest you call Schwab and give them a chance to work with you. When I started with them a few years ago I needed help learning to use their systems for things like purchasing cds...
