If anyone is interested in this topic, I ended up purchasing a AOC e1659Fwu 16-Inch USB-Powered Portable LCD Monitor and it is working very well. Not super fancy but gets the job done, for just $132.

Looking to use it with a Macbook pro. Thanks Gpop, but I am looking for a portable one (that's good for travel), that more resembles a tablet/half of a laptop. I think those are typically USB powered.

Has anyone ever used one with a Mac that worked sufficiently? Not looking for incredible graphics, just an extra screen to run some basic software/email/etc. Thanks for sharing!
