    General Strike June 25 2018

Not in Argentina right now so missed all the fun. My comment was directed at the usual crowd of "activists," who protest and demonstrate a lot, but are never seen doing anything useful.

    Workers? I doubt that seriously.

    Gluten Free Fair

My first glance at the subject gave me “Gluten Free Air.” Wouldn’t be a bit surprised.

I Got my Flu shot last week... First time ever.

I get one every year. No guarantees re effectiveness, since they guess based on chickens in China (not kidding) early in the year on the strain that will cross oceans later. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes not, but in any event there’s no downside, despite what some privileged A-listers...

New Policy at Starbucks, No Purchase necessary...

Yeah! Why can’t Starbucks do that?

New Policy at Starbucks, No Purchase necessary...

I’ll take your word. Whatever they do to it, the taste is far, far from that of fresh, unadulterated milk.

New Policy at Starbucks, No Purchase necessary...

I may have been the one to whom G was referring. If so, the misunderstanding was when I said that Starbucks at Alto Palermo uses that crappy, way over-processed boxed milk. It tastes terrible and ruins lattes and cappuccinos. In my opinion it does taste like reconstituted powdered milk, and I...

Coffee Chat, Tues, April 10, 5:30-6:30pm, Alto Palermo

Good to see some classic faces, e.g, Esteban, and meet some fresh ones (Bob and Scott). Thanks for hosting, Gracielle.

    New 1,000$ Bill

Yeah, compared to 5-8 years ago the 100 is the new 20. Haven't yet sprung a 500 on a taxista and will try not to for quite a while.

Haughty Rant Against Mate Drinkers Gets Dr. In Hot Water.

I can see Eva Peron bashing her with a flowerpot. Srta/Sra Dhers is a wonderful gift to sarcastically-minded Argentines (which is practically all of them). If this is serious, she's the archetype of the "my taste is so superior that I insist everyone else adopt it - especially inferior...

But the waiter won't need to.

    Tell Me What You Want

The forum is, to some extent, a victim of its own success. Almost 22,000 members? Of course only a tiny subset of that number is currently active, but still ... I'll echo Ben and say that the puzzle of what (or who) is, or isn't, censored is the key issue that troubles me. You may not have a...

    Where Are The Expats Now

A touch of class. Thank you. Unfortunately, often in short supply here. Certainly no apologies needed for me, but as you say, a bit brusque.

Then you shouldn’t. You make it sound as though someone was demanding that you do. Your choice, all the way.

Can Anyone Recommend A Good Financial Advisor In Ba?

I believe that the K's had multiple spiritual experiences while stealing all those great bags of money. No idea if one of the various countries' currencies they pilfered caused them more bliss than the others. If their activities were included in the data set it would account for the graph's...

Can Anyone Recommend A Good Financial Advisor In Ba?

As many times as I've vowed to lay off, I still find myself responding - wouldn't call it obsessed, but fascinated ... ??? The thing is, he knows we're all onto him and only use him as a figure of fun when he posts. Yet he keeps doing it! I wouldn't consider that having a good time if it were...

Can Anyone Recommend A Good Financial Advisor In Ba?

Why an adviser? Just buy lottery tickets and peso futures. See? Problem solved! (Although getting cosmic advice from a licensed shaman is another path.)

    Travel Requirements With Non-Argentine Children...

My wife is Argentine-born naturalized US citizen. She only travels on her US passport (which clearly notes her Argentine birth). It is not true that local documents are needed for travel, internal or external. Business, of course, is a different thing.
