    9 Buenos Aires surprising things

In my opinion, your opinion of the author is unwarranted. First impressions are just that. They are not meant to reveal deep insights or subtlies, but rather to highlight some unique characteristics for those who don't know much about the city.

    Buying Real Estate in BA

Excuse me if I'm repeating something previously mentioned (I have not read the entire thread), the bigger issue is selling the property. There are a lot of hoops and pitfalls for a foreigner selling property in Bs As. I suggest you know the ins and outs (taxes, etc) before buying.

    Best parrillas / steakhouses

I'm surprised no one has mention Mirasol de la Recova or Las Nazarenas - two very upscale (and who can't afford upscale these days?) parrillas in Recoleta.

Is there any benefit to permanent resident status?

I appreciate the input from all - even if one was obtuse and seemingly self-contradictory (though he should be ignoring me according to his own posts). A few observations: 1. Though I am unclear on the tax ramifications of permanent residency, I see no need to put my self on the AFIP radar...

Is there any benefit to permanent resident status?

Okay, then there will be even less, not more, reason for someone like me to seek permanent resident status after Dec 10.

Is there any benefit to permanent resident status?

For those of us who are not Argie lawyers or who are otherwise incapable of understanding legal citations, pray tell, what is DNU 70/2017 ? Moreover, if abolishing it makes coming and going harder, then why do you say FF is not xenophobic as is Macri. (It would seem the contrary should be true.)

Is there any benefit to permanent resident status?

P If I understand you correctly, you mean to say that a new administration takes over on Dec 10, not that there will be any changes in the applicable law, per se. If, as you also say, FF is not xenophobic as is Macric, then it stands to reason that immigration policies/enforcement would be more...

Why are Argentinians so accepting of corruption ?

I'm no expert. In deed, I have been sctratching my head for much of the 45 years I have been coming here trying to figure out why this country keeps spinning its economic wheels. Nevertheless, it seems to me that restrictive import duties and an antiquated legal system (especially imbalanced...

Is there any benefit to permanent resident status?

I confess ignorance as to the significance of the risk. My wife is Argentine. I travel with her so hopefully that would minimize the risk, but if I were denied entry, I have a home in Miami.

Is there any benefit to permanent resident status?

Thanks for this suggestion. I'll consult a lawyer (my wife's ex with whom I am good friends and whose daughter it is).

Is there any benefit to permanent resident status?

Thanks for constructing this hypothetical. I don't desire permanent residence status now, much less when my Arg mate dies. (If I did, there's probably a method for a financially well situated retiree to qualify.) I have no assets in Arg and I have a will that disposes of all my personal and real...
