Woman murdered selling on Mercado Libre

More witnesses that can pick them out from a line-up. Not even criminals are that stupid. The reality is that very few people get robbed on Mercadolibre. It happens because there are millions of people living in this city.

Racism in BA, am I alone?

Your story doesn't make sense to me. Why would she start to cry if she felt threatened?

OMG - are Argentine women whiners?

It's a class thing. If they are middle class (or see themselves as middle class), they generally complain all the time when they perceive that they live in a country with a left wing government. This is true in all developing nations, not only Argentina. And it also applies on all middle class...

Check if the buyer has good reputation instead. If they don't, then you can be paranoid.

    From today's NY Times

No, the only difference is that an Opinion article is one person and that they include opinions in it. But they are both equally subjective and partial. And what organizations are these? If this study is credible, then why isn't the World Bank adjusting their figures to it? They, if anyone...

Argentina acts to protect local films

Yes by government. Taxing products or services to make people avoid them are extremely common in both the U.S and Europe. For example; the government taxes cigarettes so people smoke less. Is that also dictatorship? Like less people smoking or less people watching crap U.S TV-shows?

Argentina acts to protect local films

How can I be joking? Turn on your TV and you'll see that 85% of it is from the U.S, if not more. Something needs to be done against that. And taxing I think is better than enforcing a law, like they do in France.

You're asking me? You quoted me quoting someone else. I would like to see a source of that data. And a non-Op-Ed article is impartial? Without knowing the source of these "independent estimates", they are even less credible than the government's numbers. You believe in something just because...

Argentina acts to protect local films

In France it's much worse. They have a law that makes sure at least a certain percentage is French produced. Personally I think it's good. We need to fight U.S cultural imperialism.

Then you either haven't been living here for very long or you're blind. It might be higher than 12%, but it's nowhere near as bad as 50%. Things have improved here and you don't need statistics to see it. You have a source for that?

By that do you mean the neo-liberal policies that created the crisis or the Kirchner's attempt to clean up the mess? Because they are two completely different economic models. But you see economic growth everywhere else.

Pretty good article. The right wing haters on this forum should read it and they might learn something. Quite the opposite. Better to default like Argentina than to default through hyper-inflation.

CFK to Run for Reelection ‘One More Time’

It's BS that they haven't done anything about security. Crime comes from poverty, and they have been very effective in bringing that down. And why do people spew the same ignorant hatred without even mentioning the economic crisis that crippled the Argentine economy?

What does Kirchner winning the Primaries mean to you...

The Kirchner winning the Primaries, to me means continuing cleaning up the mess that the failed neo-liberal policies created. Poverty is down drastically and the economy is booming. No wonder people will vote for Christina. I would too.

    Thoughts on the election?

I actually saw a person in a wheelchair the other day. The first one I've seen in months. But it was in Puerto Madero where they actually have sidewalks.
