$1 homes offered to American expats

$1 plus taxes and all compulsory expenses totalling around $100K.
Exactly....there's always a catch. There are homes in Detroit too for a $1, if you can pay the outstanding property tax liens, which are the second highest in the nation.

I think there are better deals in Detroit as an international hellhole compared to Italy where unaware people think its a nice place not under Sharia law

The ignorant remarks I read here sometimes are quite unbelievable. Are all (certain nationality) on this forum some kind of ignorant hillbillies?? Italy under sharia law? Where do you read this kind of fantasy stories?
the comment probably refers to the fact that suburban towns near Detroit have large arab american populations. There is no "sharia law" in Michigan, and, actually, a lot of arab americans voted for Trump as a statement against US government support of Israel. But Detroit itself is actually coming back pretty well from the closing of auto factories 40 or so years ago. Detroit is very affordable by US standards, but the median price is more like $85,000, not one dollar.

There are a number of villages that sell homes in Italy for one euro which include a contract with a catch and they are on sale for people of all nationalities. The homes are usually in remote villages where most people left a long time ago.
